Wells Maine

The Sea Mist Resort in Wells is an ideal
destination, with so much to offer, so close. From Sea Mist you are
walking distance to the beach, restaurants, shopping, a
movie
theater and a supermarket. Just a short drive, or a trolley ride in
season, takes you to several beautiful sand beaches, or Wells
Harbor, even the nearby towns of Kennebunkport and
Ogunquit.
Wells is well known for shopping – especially antiquing and Maine
craft shops. There are amusements aplenty from mini-golf to the
movies, and of course water sports and boating excursions from our
harbors. You can catch a boat ride for a lobster tour, go fishing,
or on a whale watch. Wells Harbor is also popular for its calmer
waters making it ideal for paddle boarding, kayaking and canoeing.
Art lovers will enjoy the galleries and boutiques featuring Maine
artists that have been inspired by the beautiful coastline and
scenery for centuries. Nature lovers will find tranquility and
serene
scenery
at Wells National Estuary and Laudholm Farm which offers miles of
walking paths along the marsh and coast plus a series of festivals
and nature classes.
Wells is an historic town, established in 1653, and known as Maine’s
“friendliest town.” Wells celebrates its proud heritage with events
and festivals throughout the year, from free summer concerts at the
Wells Harbor Gazebo, to chili fests and craft fairs to a Christmas
parade.
From Sea Mist, you can easily visit Maine’s other big attractions,
like Freeport’s world famous L.L. Bean, The Old Port and Portland
Headlight in Portland, Kittery Outlets, and York's Wild Kingdom, all
within an hour. Of course, Maine’s best attraction is our beautiful
beaches, and we have several for you to explore right there in Wells
near Sea Mist.
